EQUIPPING FOR SERVICE. EMPOWERING FOR LIFE.
These words have long expressed the heart of LOJ Caldwell.
Equipping For Service
The work of the ministry was never intended to fall upon a few people while everyone else watches. Scripture teaches that Christ gives leaders to His church:
“For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.” Ephesians 4:12 KJV
Ministry leaders are therefore not called merely to do the work of the ministry themselves. They are called to equip God’s people to serve and minister to others, too. We want every believer to understand that:
God has given YOU something.
YOUR life matters.
YOUR gifts matter.
YOUR service matters.
Someone else can be strengthened because YOU faithfully use what God has endowed you with!
This is why we seek to develop disciples who become servant-leaders in their homes, church, workplaces, communities and wherever God sends them.
Empowering For Life
We also believe God’s truth must reach beyond Sunday morning. Jesus said:
“I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” John 10:10 KJV
We want to empower Believers to discover the joy, freedom and purpose of the abundant life Jesus makes available to His followers.
We also want to empower people to navigate life’s challenges with biblical wisdom, especially in the areas of relationships, responsibilities, decisions and opportunities.
Faith should shape how we live.
How we love.
How we parent.
How we work.
How we handle adversity.
How we make decisions.
How we treat people.
How we use what God has entrusted to us.
How we serve.
That is what we mean by Empowering for Life.
We see LOJ Caldwell growing into a large, multicultural and multigenerational family of deeply rooted disciples and true servant-leaders who know God personally, live His Word practically, love one another genuinely and carry the love of Jesus into their homes, workplaces, communities and world.
We see young children getting to know God for themselves.
We see teenagers developing biblical wisdom and spiritual confidence for the world they are navigating.
We see singles living faithfully, fully and purposefully.
We see healthier marriages and stronger, more connected families.
We see men and women becoming mature disciples who recognize that God has given their lives purpose.
We see people discovering their gifts and using them to serve others.
We see a church increasingly able to respond to real human needs inside and outside its walls.
We see relationships being built across congregations, communities and denominational lines, as ministries discover how much more the Church can accomplish when we all work together.
Indeed, we see churches uniting to confront challenges too great for any one congregation to address alone.
And we see disciples becoming disciple-makers, reaching people with the Love of Jesus whom LOJ Caldwell might never reach on its own.
